As previously reported, the beneficiary of “The Power of One Dram” initiative for the month of October is the "My Forest Armenia" NGO, with its unique and symbolic project “Symphonic Forest.” The idea of reforestation was initiated by the artistic director of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, Sergey Smbatyan. The orchestra is celebrating its 20th anniversary season in this exceptional way.
Before this impressive and memorable event, the partnering organizations gathered at IDBank to sign a memorandum of cooperation.
As a result of this collaboration, a new forest will be created in Armenia, symbolizing the continuity of life and the eternity of art. The reforestation process will be carried out by the NGO “My Forest Armenia.”
“Creating a forest is ten times more difficult than building a ten-story building. This cooperation is very symbolic, but also a wonderful idea, and we are very happy to be a part of it,” noted Andre Gumuchdjian, founder and director of “My Forest Armenia” environmental NGO.
For Sergey Smbatyan, artistic director and principal conductor of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, this is a significant moment, as an idea he has long contemplated is becoming reality:
“I’m very happy that my good friends—IDBank and Idram—joined this initiative, because ‘Symphonic Forest’ raised many questions for people, but soon the forest will be there, and people will see how a forest can take the image of a symphonic orchestra.”
Mher Abrahamyan, Chairman of the Executive Board of IDBank, stated:
“The idea behind ‘The Power of One Dram’ is that even the smallest contribution can bring about great change. We already have several successful collaborations with ‘My Forest Armenia,’ through which over 30,000 trees have been planted in Armenia. This time, we will plant trees in the ‘Symphonic Forest’ to commemorate the 20th concert season of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra. We’re very happy to be part of this beautiful, important, and memorable event because the ‘Symphonic Forest’ combines not only nature and classical music but also serves as a brilliant example of how important ideas can be united to benefit future generations and Armenia’s nature.”
For Arsen Kdenyan, Director of Idram, the idea itself is inspiring. The fact that around 6,000 trees will be added to the forest thanks to “The Power of One Dram” speaks not only to the importance of environmental protection but also to public responsibility and unity:
“We believe that every dram contributed, every tree planted, every step toward a greener Armenia has a long-term impact.”
As a reminder, on October 23, the orchestra will hold a concert to celebrate the founding of the new forest, with IDBank also serving as the sponsor. By purchasing a ticket, the audience is essentially planting a tree in the "Symphonic Forest." Each purchased ticket will result in at least one tree being planted.
To participate in the good deeds of “The Power of One Dram,” all payments must be made via the Idram&IDBank app, the online platforms IDBanking.am and banking.idram.am, or through Idram and IDBank terminals. For every payment, the companies will contribute one dram to important initiatives.
